Getting Started

CCSapp is a digital platform designed specifically for Irish Community Pharmacies to deliver the HSE Common Conditions Service. It provides guided clinical workflows, automatic prescription generation, and secure patient record management for all 8 conditions covered under the scheme.

CCSapp is available to registered pharmacists working in community pharmacies in Ireland that are contracted to provide the HSE Common Conditions Service. You must have a valid PSI registration number to create an account.

Click the "Get Started" button and complete the registration form with your pharmacy details, PSI number, and work email. Your account will be verified within 24 hours. You can then set up two-factor authentication for enhanced security.

CCSapp offers a free trial period. After the trial, subscription options are available. Contact us for current pricing information for your pharmacy.

Using the App

CCSapp supports all 8 conditions in the HSE Common Conditions Service: Allergic Rhinitis, Cold Sores, Uncomplicated UTI, Shingles, Conjunctivitis, Vulvovaginal Thrush, Impetigo, and Oral Thrush. Each condition has a complete clinical pathway with inclusion/exclusion criteria.

Each consultation follows a structured workflow: Patient identification, Condition selection, Inclusion criteria check, Exclusion criteria check, Treatment selection, Safety netting advice, and Prescription generation. The app guides you through each step and ensures no clinical checks are missed.

Yes, you can search for patients by name, PPS number, GMS (Medical Card) number, or DPS (Drug Payment Scheme) number. The search also works for prescription numbers and conditions.

Yes, CCSapp is a Progressive Web App (PWA) that works offline. You can complete consultations without an internet connection, and data will sync automatically when you reconnect.

Prescriptions

CCSapp generates Appendix 2 prescriptions that comply with HSE requirements. Prescriptions include all required patient and prescriber information, clinical notes, and safety netting advice.

Yes, prescriptions can be printed directly from the app. The print layout is optimised for A4 paper and includes the official CCS branding.

All prescription data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption and stored in compliance with GDPR and Irish healthcare data protection requirements. Prescriptions are retained for the legally required period.

Security & Privacy

Patient data is protected with AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit. Access is controlled through authentication, and all data processing complies with GDPR. The pharmacy remains the Data Controller for patient records.

Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to your account. After entering your password, you must also enter a code from an authenticator app on your phone. This protects your account even if your password is compromised.

While 2FA is strongly recommended for all accounts handling patient data, it is currently optional. However, we encourage all users to enable it from the Settings page for maximum security.

Only authenticated users within your pharmacy can access patient records. CCSapp staff cannot access your patient data. All access is logged for audit purposes.

Technical

CCSapp works on all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. For the best experience on mobile devices, we recommend installing the app to your home screen.

On iOS Safari, tap the Share button and select "Add to Home Screen". On Android Chrome, tap the menu and select "Install app" or "Add to Home Screen". This gives you quick access and enables offline functionality.

Click "Forgot password?" on the login page and enter your email address. You will receive a password reset link. If you have 2FA enabled, you will need your authenticator app to complete the reset.
